If you’re planning to tie the knot soon, you’ve picked the perfect time. Wedding trends for 2024 and 2025 are all about mixing the timeless with the trendy, creating celebrations that are uniquely you. Imagine a blend of classic elegance and modern flair, where sustainability meets luxury, and personal touches are the new trend. (I LOVE this!)

Whether you’re envisioning an intimate garden elopement or a grand church wedding, this is your chance to let your personalities shine. I’ve listed down the top wedding trends of 2024 that are still IN by 2025.

Intimate “Low-key” Weddings

According to this year’s Pinterest Newsroom, friends everywhere are choosing calm celebrations over over-the-top expensive weddings. Couples are now into intimate, chill, and accessible weddings trends. Cozy environments that connect with nature are also in full swing as opposed to those grand ballrooms.

Couples are opting for smaller guest lists and cozy venues, creating an atmosphere that feels warm and personal. It’s all about celebrating with the people who matter most, without the overwhelm of a huge production. These weddings are less about extravagant displays and more about meaningful moments, genuine connections, and of course, a whole lot of love.

This is so charming because what is a wedding but a gathering of all those who are important to you? I love to see couples celebrating their families and friends and treating their guests to the best experience possible.

Exchange of Private Vows

The exchange of private vows allows partners to express their love and commitment in a way that feels authentic and unique to their relationship, often resulting in a cherished memory that is both heartfelt and profound. With private vows as part of an on going trends this year until 2025, couples are finding a way to balance their grand wedding celebration with the intimacy of their private emotions.

I’ve seen couples do this during their first looks before, or even just in a quiet moment before the ceremony, but you can really do this at any time–you can sneak away a week before the grand celebration and have a quiet moment in your favorite spot together, or even pronounce your hand-written vows on your honeymoon after the party’s over and it’s just the two of you and your love bubble.

Fireworks Exit

We are no longer talking about sparklers and confetti–we are talking about fireworks. Funny how the party’s gotten smaller, but the sendoff has gotten louder!

What we’re looking at is a display to not only challenge what’s been done before but also to dazzle your guests, so while fireworks are beautiful and fun, think about send-offs that are personal to you (and maybe are a little bit insta-worthy?)

Does the end of your night finish with everyone jumping in your venue’s pool fully clothed? What about a special performer or a video booth before they exit the doors? If your style is more low-key, you can simply give your guests the gift of a late-night snack on their way out the door (trust me, they’ll love it after all that dancing).

Vintage Weddings

Stepping back in time is one of the most romantic ways many couples are choosing to theme their weddings. This trends isn’t just about the venue design or the table decor, but couples now opt for film photographers (!!!!)

The rich, organic textures and colors of the film evoke a sense of nostalgia and romance, creating images that feel more like pieces of history or a moment caught in time. Choosing a film photographer is about preserving the authenticity and beauty of your wedding day in a way that digital photography just can’t replicate. (Let’s add film coverage to your wedding for that special touch!)

Themed Rehearsal Dinner

Why not give your guests an extra “wedding experience” by inviting them to your themed rehearsal dinner? These guests are your VIPs–your family, childhood besties, anyone who played a significant part in your life and relationship or loved ones traveling from far away.

You’re probably going to host a rehearsal dinner anyway, so giving it an extra special touch, like a dress code, a MET Gala-style theme, or a unique location adds fun to the event your closest guests are getting excited for.

These lil parties will allow you to show off your interests and cultures, enough to set the tone for the big celebration ahead. It’s a fantastic way to kick off the wedding weekend with style and a touch of creativity, ensuring that everyone is relaxed and excited about the main event.

Rehearsal Dinner Photo Coverage

Maybe you saw this trend coming, but with your closest people gathering the night before your big event to look at you with teary-eyed excitement, make spontaneous, heartfelt speeches, and spend precious close moments and that you won’t get on the hustle and bustle of your wedding day, it’s a beautiful idea to have photo coverage of your rehearsal dinner. These may be the only moments you share with certain family members during your celebrations, or the best conversations and nervous excitement leading up. Having photographs of your rehearsal builds the story of your day in your final album (and it also lets your mom take a break from raising her iPhone 😉 )

How are you making your wedding day special? What are the plans you’re cooking? If you need some extra help brainstorming, I’d love to dream up your day with you.
